Wainwrights Coast To Coast Walk

Here’s another great article I found on the Blacks blog.

Katie Mckay from Leeds University Union Hiking Club tells us about her latest adventure, which took her on Wainwright’s legendary 192 mile coast-to-coast walk from St. Bees in the Western Lake District to Robin Hood Bay on the east coast of England.

If you think walking 192 miles sounds like a lot, you’d be right. When you present the challenge as walking coast to coast it becomes an even more impressive concept. So why, when I received a text from an old friend asking if I fancied walking coast to coast on the off chance, did I agree so light heartedly? This is a very good question. The fact that I was wearing a pair of heels and drinking a bottle of wine probably has something to do with it.
